Sonic Messengers
Sonic Messengers — AceMo, GBD, YunieMo, and Shenel Johns — is a genre-bending collective imagined by producer and artist AceMo, and also the name of his independent label. Born out of a three-year residency at Public Records in Brooklyn, the group delivers an odyssey of musical adventures through a hybrid of live instrumentation, improvisation, and high-energy club performance.
Their sound merges electronic, house, techno, jazz and beyond, layered with live improvisation, emotive vocals, saxophone, trumpet, drum machines, and more. Each show is an experimental, unconstrained club experience that blurs the line between concert and dance floor.
Sonic Messengers also welcomes frequent guests including vocalist J. Hoard, vocalist/flutist Melanie Charles, DJs Russell E.L. Butler and DJ OOOChild, expanding the collective’s energy and reach. As a member, YunieMo brings saxophone, voice, and vision, shaping the group’s mission to create music in the moment, music that uplifts, unites, and evokes both freedom and belonging.
